There are several materials used as temporary fillers, hyaluronic acid being the most common and includes:

Dermal fillers can be used in various areas of the face to address different concerns. Some of the common areas treated with dermal fillers include:
Cheeks and temples: Dermal fillers can restore volume to sunken or hollow cheeks and temples, giving a more youthful appearance.
Lips: Thin or aged lips can be plumped and reshaped using dermal fillers.
Nasolabial folds: Also known as smile lines, these creases that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth can be reduced with dermal fillers.
Marionette lines: These lines that extend from the corners of the mouth downwards can be smoothed out with dermal fillers.
Under-eye area: Dermal fillers can help reduce the appearance of dark circles, hollows, and bags under the eyes.

Treatment FAQs
It varies based on the filler type and where it's used. Some last 6 months, while others might last over 2 years. Your NYPAM provider can give specifics.
Commonly, there's some redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Rarely, you might see bumps or asymmetry. Vascular occlusion is a rare complication. If the filler is based hyaluronic acid bases, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to quickly dissolve the filler, if indicated. Always communicate with your doctor if something seems off.
You'll notice a difference right away! But remember, there might be a bit of swelling initially. The final effect typically settles in after a few days to weeks.
A pinch or pressure is often what's felt. Many fillers contain a numbing agent, and clinics can also use a topical numbing cream.
